Youth Services

Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our youth services provide counseling, school supplies, birthday celebrations, and scholarships that remove barriers and support healthy development. From backpacks to Parks & Rec programs, we help children on Bainbridge Island participate fully in their community.

Counseling Services

Helpline House provides counseling services for children ages five to twelve who have experienced emotional stress or trauma. Parents or guardians can call 206.842.7621 to schedule an appointment.

BI Parks & Rec Scholarships

Helpline supports community members by providing scholarships for Bainbridge Island Parks & Recreation programs, including youth sports and recreational activities, to help remove financial barriers for families. These scholarships help children participate in healthy, enriching programs that support their well-being and community connection.

YES Fund

Bainbridge Community Foundation created the Youth Experience Support Fund (YES Fund) to help cover the cost of activities and opportunities for local youth. The fund provides financial assistance for basic needs, academic support, and extracurricular programs.

Project Backpack

Project Backpack helps Bainbridge Island students start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed. The program is available to Bainbridge Island residents who are registered with Helpline House and have children entering grades K–12 listed as members of their household.

Each eligible student will receive a new backpack and a $50 gift card. Families may also request additional back-to-school items based on available donations and will have access to a selection of general school supplies during pickup while supplies last.

The registration deadline is July 31, and backpacks will be distributed on August 26 and 27. Families can stop by Helpline House to complete a registration form. Registering by the deadline helps us ensure every student is ready for a successful school year.

Project Happy Birthday

Helpline House families can register at the front desk to help create a fun birthday celebration for their child. Donors and volunteers provide appropriate gifts coordinated in advance along with a customized birthday cake or cupcakes & cookies. Please be sure to enroll in this program at least two weeks prior to your child’s birthday.
